Technology Integration 101: Introduction

I have always thought technology was a wonderful tool to be used by every one for the social networking, learning, exploring, and expanding their horizons. I am currently in another online class about technology as well as this class. I am most excited about learning new ways to engage my students in learning through technology and to expand my own knowledge on ways to do things. I am not sure that I would call myself an "expert" in any area of technology; however, I am knowledgeable about several areas and programs that are used almost daily for me.
I am constantly looking for ideas on how to teach my students through the use of technology as I know that I am not fully aware of all that is available. I would love it if there was anyone that would be able to help me learn about using Skype or something like that to connect my classroom with another classroom somewhere else in the US or anywhere around the world.

I hope that you find someone in this course to Skype with! I used an online penpal website for teachers and my Spanish students are planning to Skype with some students in Spain that we have been emailing/writing letters to. You might want to check it out, the site is http://www.studentsoftheworld.info/menu_schools.php3. You can choose a country or post your own ad! I always check out the school and the teacher of course and have all communication through my own email to be safe. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if your media specialist could help find a group for your class to connect with on Skype. You might also look into the communities on Edmodo. I've often seen classes from around the world in there looking to connect.
